Melt the wax ( you will want to use a Pillar wax for your dipping), generally you will use about 1 pound of wax per bear. To melt you can use one of the following methods. You can use a double boiler, or boil water in a larger pot with the wax melting in second smaller pot inside the first. You can also use a turkey roaster, deep fryer or crock pot. The average wax temperature is 170-200º F. After you have the wax melted, turn heat source off so that it does not exceed 200º F. If the wax is too hot, the bear can shrink and become misshapen.
Wax-dipped animals should not sit directly on wood. A dish, glass or metal, will protect the wood surface from stain by the oils in the wax.
You will want to keep the bear out of the reach of children because they are no longer toys.
Wax dipped bears are not meant to be burned.
